Collect:
OPC: OPC is open connectivity via open standards for industrial automation. Like the printer driver concept for Windows, OPC is standard for communicating with devices and equipment on the shop floor. With OPC, interoperability is assured. We estimate that more than 95% of intelligent automation devices support the OPC standard. Manufacturing Director natively supports the ability to communicate with any OPC interface.
Files: Text files in CSV or XML format are often a critical part of any implementation in manufacturing. They may be generated by test stands, CMMs, legacy applications, etc… Manufacturing Director provides the ability to detect when a new file is created and import that data.
XML Messages: XML stands for Extensible Markup Language. It is a method of formatting information so that it can be shared between systems without the need for custom interfaces. Manufacturing Director can send and receive XML messages to automation and enterprise systems.
Databases: Existing databases often include valuable information. Manufacturing Director can send and receive data from databases that support ODBC or OLEDB, which is widely included in almost all databases.
Custom Connectors: Although the proceeding methods account for the majority of system interfaces, Manufacturing Director provides a method for creating custom connectors for any system or device.
Manual Data Entry: For manual operations, obtaining information directly from your workforce is preferred. Manufacturing Director’s easy to use software application allows for quick data entry in addition to the ability to validate each piece of data as it is entered.
